Hey Friends, Greetings from Bangalore 💗

21% of blockchain games are discontinued already (with no updates from the owners), and I believe more games will get discontinued in the current web3 game downfall.

I do get inquiries to build web3 games from new cryptocurrency owners, who want to build a web3 game as a utility

  1. Most of them don’t want to build a web3 game, they want to add some elements of blockchain to the game

  2. Most of the members in the community are driven/motivated by personal financial gains vs excited about gameplay or a core loop

Things the crypto owners should understand before finalizing what they wanted to build to avoid player-product misfit

  1. Have clarity on what community you want to build, and who should be there - if they prefer stacking, yielding it is best to build gamefi mechanics over a web3 game

    1. OR understand your community and build what they want

  2. Have clarity on “How’s my game better with blockchain? How’s it better for players?”

    1. Understand if it’s a web3 game or web2 game (with blockchain elements added)

Once you have clarity on these - they become your pillars for the game/product. Tell me what did I miss in the comments/chat!

My fav web3 game devs/ecosystem to watch out for: 1. Mighty Bear Games 2. Square Enix 3. Voodoo 4. ImmutableX 5. Muus Collective
