Most of the game genres had declined in 2022 (vs 2021) with respect to revenue and download.

Downloads chart:

1. The top 5 genres are the same as in 2021

2. Simulation becomes no3 overtaking the puzzle genre - 4# in 2022, was 3# in downloads in 2021

3. Shooter has a massive drop of -14%

4. Action genre got a double-digit growth vs all the other genres had an amazing release last year with games like survior.io, school party craft

5. Hypercasual games had a -10% drop, you can witness all the hypercasual

   publishers are rushing towards hybrid causal over hyper-casual games

Revenue chart:

1. Only Action (9%) and Tabletop are successful game genres by revenue in 2022

2. The shooter genre saw a massive drop of -22% decline in revenue, followed by the sports and RPG genres -14% each

3. Of all the top 5 games in the rev chart, casino game is the only genre with the least revenue decline -1%

4. RPG revenue had declined for 7 consecutive quarters now, despite the revenue decline it still holds the #1 chart with the revenue in 2022
